TriMech Design Solutions (formerly MAKO) Opens our Studio for Austin Design Week!
If you follow the technology and design field, you’ll know it’s no surprise that Austin, Texas, has popularly become a huge innovation and technology hub. With many different companies, businesses, and start-ups interested in delving into the design or tech field, Austin has progressively become a city where creativity thrives for entrepreneurs, inventors, and design enthusiasts.
In lieu of Austin’s new identity as an innovation hub for technology and design, Austin Design Week is an annual week to celebrate all of Austin’s amazing design studios and businesses that help make Austin the growing and amazing technology hub that it is today!
For Austin Design Week, the city celebrates by opening its doors to #Makerspace for free workshops, talks, studio tours, and other numerous events for a whole week in November for its creative community. From visual, interactive, web and mobile, product, industrial, architectural, fashion, and civic design, the creative spaces in Austin are encouraged to invite others to learn about what makes Austin the design hub that it is today, including our MAKO office right in Austin!

TriMech Design Solutions (formerly MAKO) at Austin Design Week 2019
For Austin Design Week, the MAKO Team was excited and prepared in advance for opening our doors to invite any members of the Austin community to stop by and visit our Austin office! With 4 main members, Tim, Cameron, Magnus, and our newest addition, Michael, our Austin team were excited to meet the different members of the community to share their passion and knowledge over industrial and product design.
Our CEO and founder, Kevin Mako, also dropped by for Austin Design Week to help prepare and deliver an insightful and empowering talk alongside our Director of Strategy, Tim Uys, on how to bring your idea to store shelves with a focus on developing your invention ideas.
In addition to hearing our CEO and director of design talk, the office was excited to offer demonstrations, discussions and live showings of some of our most interesting and innovative prototypes, products, and designs we’ve worked on over the past years! We also invited our guests to take part in playing fun games with the team and enjoy some fun treats!

Austin Design Week 2019 Recap
As the big day for our open studio finally approached, the team down in Austin was excited and looked forward to our visitors, who were eager to learn all about product and industrial design. We were pleased to see a great number of people who showed up to our studio space and met our Austin Team!
The team had a great time meeting different members of the creative community whilst sharing their experiences and years of knowledge of the product design and technology field. They got to show and explain some of their favourite and most significant designs and prototypes that we had in the studio to show, all while inspiring our guests.
One of our favourite pieces that was a big hit at the event was the companion bike prototype. The companion bike prototype was one of our main showpieces and biggest prototypes to show our guests and exemplifies how big our prototypes and designs can be!
