MAKO Design Client, Ryse, Surpasses Their Crowdfunding Goal With Ease
TriMech client, Ryse, recently raised over 100 percent of their crowdfunding investment goal on FrontFundr for their automated smart shade invention! They surpassed their initial ask of $250,000 on the FrontFundr crowdfunding platform.
If you’re probably wondering why this smart shade invention design company name sounds so familiar. That’s because they were one of the guests who joined Kevin Mako at OPN’s Founders Funding Couch event earlier in the year.

Ryse | Automation for Shades with Beaded Chains
Every day, we rely on our smart assistants like Google, Alexa, and Siri more and more. Whether it’s to set a reminder, call a friend, or play your favorite show, there’s no denying how useful these smart home products are. Enter the Ryse SmartShade. They’re a smart shade invention design company that wants to make people’s lives easier by automating their shades without the trouble of purchasing and installing brand new ones. Indeed, the SmartShade is a nifty little device that works seamlessly with existing beaded chain shades.
How does it work? As you fix the SmartShade in a convenient position on the wall, simply open up the SmartShade device to place the beaded chain loop inside. And that’s it! It takes minutes to set up because it’s completely wireless! Control the device and even set schedules with your smartphone and smart home devices. This smart shade invention design is compatible with Alexa, Google, and Siri. How cool is that? Wouldn’t it be nice to start the day by simply saying, “Hey Siri, open my shades.”

FrontFundr – Where Investors and Inventors Meet
If you want to learn more about what FrontFundr does. Specifically, why their platform is such a great choice for inventors who are looking for funding, we recommend reading our previous FrontFundr blog where our client, ChaiEasy, also smashed their crowdfunding goal on FrontFundr.
So just how did Ryse become so successful on FrontFundr? It’s all about the potential value their providing. Take a look at the market stats on their FrontFundr page. In the very first line, they include some hard-hitting facts about the potential of the industry. They state that the global smart shades Market is expected to grow from $162 million in 2019 to $1.47 billion in 2024, a CAGR (Compound Annual Growth Rate) of 55.6%.
However, shades with motors already pre-built into the product costs upwards of $1,500 per window – an expensive barrier to entry. And, only eight percent of residential window coverings are motorized. That means there’s the potential of a $27 billion opportunity in just the residential market alone.
