The Edge Desk Folding Workstation Invention

The world is evolving and the dependency on laptops and phones is heavily increasing. The downside to this is that we are no longer bound to a desk to get the job done. As a result we end up with bad posture as we slouch on our couches and beds while working. Product development is creating product designs that can keep up with individuals’ mobile and flexible lifestyles and offer them healthy alternatives. The Edge Desk is a folding workstation designed with an easy adjustable desk and kneeling chair that can be used anywhere.

A Customizable and Transportable Invention Idea

The Edge is mainly targeting students, artists and freelance workers that work at home or don’t have a fixed work desk. The unit is entirely foldable and adjustable in a matter of a few seconds. The user can choose between 5 different height settings and 8 different tilt angles, allowing the desk to be used in different ways.

Users can rotate the desktop vertically to switch to easel mode for the creative minds.  The Edge was developed to be comfortable and allow long hours of work. This is a great and practical answer for individuals who have back pains and have bad posture.

This invention idea folds flat, allowing easy storage under beds, couches or closets. Workers on the go could make great use of this transportable desk as they can set it up anywhere: at a park, at the office, in the living-room, etc. The Edge Desk is the name of this versatile smart desk because it was designed with a patented groove around the edge that allows users to add several optional accessories such as a lamp, a cup-holder, speakers and mobile devices and more.

The accessories will be sold separately and are still being developed as of now: “The accessories won’t be ready immediately after the campaign” said the inventors. The accessories will be designed to fold flat in order to maximize desk space and storage of the unit. The Edge Desk’s Kickstarter campaign launched on March 8 and has almost reached its goal as we are writing this article.
