Meet our Manager of Design Strategy – Rob! #MeetMako
As a Product Design Firm, here at TriMech Design Solutions (formerly MAKO), we interact with our clients on a very close basis in order to be very transparent about the design process and the development of an inventor’s product. We are a team of positive, friendly and happy people who are excited and passionate about design, growth and learning about new ideas and concepts every day!
With three current open offices, each of the members in each office carries a unique and special persona that adds to the amazing quality of what makes TriMech Design Solutions (formerly MAKO) so great. We started the #MeetMako campaign to allow clients and future clients who are interested in working with us to learn more about who we are and who you’ll be working with!
This campaign also serves as a great resource to learn about who will be helping you produce and develop your product and introduce to you a little more about TriMech Design Solutions (formerly MAKO), what it’s like to work here and about the office culture!
Last week, we introduced our Electrical designer Navdeep for our second #MeetMako. For this week’s third instalment, we are introducing our Manager of Design Strategy, Robert Colgan!

Meet Rob!
As the Manager of Design Strategy, Rob carries a couple of different roles at MAKO, especially during the concept design phase of any new projects and products we receive here. Rob’s main responsibilities include maintaining a clear design language that ensures that every product idea we receive at MAKO has a clear future design and is easy to take to the market. Rob understands the best ways to design a product language that is both simple and unique and can ensure its success in the market.
We’ve had Rob with us for a while here at MAKO, and among some of his favorite things about working here, he emphasizes his enjoyment of working on new and different projects and products daily, and how working with a team of diverse and talented designers is beneficial to not only himself – but the whole team in growing, learning, and developing their skills and horizons.
Rob mentions that the variety of different projects and products we receive is what keeps him motivated and every new product idea is what keeps every day at MAKO an exciting place to work in! One of his favorite experiences with a past product from MAKO was our best-selling Moonlite! Rob speaks on the genius of its design, and how great it was to see a product become that successful coming from MAKO.
Check out Rob’s #MeetMako video below to learn more about Rob and his advice on how to create a successful product just like Moonlite!
