How Face Masks are Being Innovated for a Safer Future
In relevance to current situations, the production and demand for innovative wearable product designs in face masks have seen an all-time high as people around the world are looking for the best form of protection to keep them safe whilst they take essential trips outside for either a breath of fresh air, exercise or to get groceries.
On the other hand, making sure that essential services such as our health care facilities have the proper amount of supplies and the most high-quality materials and parts are just as important as health care workers face the front lines for helping our nations around the world.
At TriMech Design, we have been keeping up with so many of the newest and greatest ideas and innovations from around the world that are being created in order to help combat the effects of COVID-19 and protect our citizens.
The recent innovative wearable product designs in face masks have inspired us to collect some of our favourite designs. We believe these are great examples of how innovation and design can be used for the betterment of society as a whole and to help move forward when faced with challenging circumstances and situations.
High-Quality Innovative Wearable Product Designs
Now more than ever, people are beginning to realize the real needs that a face mask must require in order to be as efficient as possible when out in order to stay free from the harm of viruses or harmful particles in the air. Disposable masks simply can’t uphold the protection that is vital to keep those more vulnerable to viruses safe.
Thus, AusAir is an innovative face mask that comes from the idea of creating more premium or high-quality consumer face masks by being built with 3D designs that allow for easy, fog-free breathing. The innovative wearable product design of this mask allows for the nose area to be cushioned with memory foam and reinforced with a hidden aluminium nose clip to ensure a secure, safe, and efficient fit.
The mask is made to feature multiple layers, including an optional botanical filter layer (that traps particular matter), in order to ensure that the wearer can breathe clean and odour-free air. The masks help to aid against pollution, pathogens, smoke, and bad odour and last longer, fit better and help support you to live a healthier life while breather quality air.
Innovative Wearable Product Design Available Through 3D Printing
As a product design and development company that loves to make use of innovative 3D printed technology, we were pleased to see that innovators around the world are using 3D printers to help create solutions to help stay safe!
The design team Isinnova teamed up with Decathlon to design a 3D printed component, named the Charlotte Valve, that can easily fit onto snorkelling masks! With these extra 3D-printed components, snorkelling masks can be turned into efficient respirators that can be used to aid patients affected by COVID-19 and other viruses.
In the spirit of helping out communities and citizens around the world, Isinnova has filed for a patent on the design to ensure that the design cannot be made for profit, as they’d like to make the file free to download and create for those who happen to have 3D printers accessible to them!
This innovative wearable product design is a great opportunity for hospitals, clinics, and health care workers to have access to life-saving technology at no cost, which can help save people!
Multifunctional Masks that Combines Mask and Headphones
At Mako Design, we are huge fans of well-made and strategically planned out multifunctional designs that solve more than one problem at once. With so many innovations in masks and the advancement of popular technologies pushing us into a more futuristic world, we were excited to see this completely innovative mask design by Zack Massos and Eitan Adika that puts together both masks and headphones in one!
There are a lot of people who find it hard to leave the house without their earphones and music, and now with so many people taking extra precautions for their health and safety and wearing masks, combining both the traditional face mask with a design that integrates headphones is a great idea for a more technologically advanced future. Not only can you stay safe while commuting or travelling, but you can easily stay connected at the same time, making this mask the perfect example of an innovative wearable product design.
