ROVER Packhopper

The ROVER Packhopper sports invention earned World's Top Design Award and Red Dot Design Museum entry

Winner of the number one design award on the planet, the Red Dot Award, and selected to be featured in the Red Dot Design Museum, the ROVER Packhopper is one of the most successful designs TriMech has had the pleasure of working on!

Eric Coffman came to TriMech with the creative idea of developing a multi-function tennis ball bag that is able to automatically pick up balls, be worn as a backpack or rolled, and includes extendible legs so that you can easily grab tennis balls during practice. In addition to incorporating these unique features, Eric wanted the tennis bag to have a modern and sleek visual design.

Although this sports invention project posed numerous tough challenges, the TriMech team was up to the task and eager to innovate. We conducted extensive research, concept sketching, CAD design, mechanical engineering, and prototyping, and facilitated production. As we commonly do for our clients, we also provided a wealth of strategic advice regarding crowdfunding, patenting, product strategy, timing, and marketing.

We couldn’t be more proud that Eric has received full funding for the ROVER Packhopper through a Kickstarter campaign and recently started selling his sports product invention worldwide.
