Kevin Mako speaking at QEC competition for student invention makers
Kevin has always had a passion for helping young entrepreneurs grow and turn their ideas into successful businesses. In fact, he himself started TriMech Design Solutions right out of high school. Thus, Kevin understands the challenges that other students face as they commence their entrepreneurial journey. To help student innovators compete in the QEC, Kevin will provide an hour-long business consultation to the top three winning teams!
About The Queen’s Entrepreneurs’ Competition
In its 34th year, the QEC is Canada’s most prestigious undergraduate startup competition for student invention makers. Remarkably, their team is comprised entirely of undergraduate students with a deep passion for helping aspiring entrepreneurs learn and transform their business ideas. In addition, participants will have the unique opportunity of meeting and networking with business leaders like Kevin.
Students from all over the world submit their business plans to the QEC to participate in this competition. From there, the top 15 teams pitch their business plans to a panel of expert judges comprised of today’s top Canadian business leaders. The top teams will collectively receive over $150,000 in prizes! This year’s competitors feature teams from a wide breadth of industries, including cleantech, health, and more!
The student competition event takes place over three days and begins tonight, January 13th. Tonight will feature opening remarks, a workshop, and networking opportunities. Tomorrow, January 14th, has a fully loaded schedule with more speakers, workshops, and of course, the pitch competition itself. Immediately following the 15-team pitch competition is Kevin’s big keynote! The final top six teams compete for the top prizes on the last day of the event on January 15th.
We can’t wait for the final weekend of this competition to kick off! Hope to see you there.
