Those looking for the best engineering podcast for invention makers won’t need to look any further. Because Pipeline Design + Engineering just came out with their list of top mechanical engineering podcasts on Apple Podcast and Spotify. We were incredibly proud to share that TriMech Design Solutions podcast, The Product Startup Podcast, earned a spot on their list!
It’s not the first accolade our podcast earned this year, either! A couple of months ago Welp Magazine chose The Product Startup Podcast as one of the top three industrial design podcasts in 2021!
But let’s get back to Pipeline Design.
Pipeline Design + Engineering’s Podcast: Being an Engineer
Pipeline Design + Engineering is a firm dedicated to building turnkey equipment specifically for R&D and manufacturing teams. If their name sounds familiar, it should! Back in August, they invited Kevin Mako to their podcast, the Being an Engineer podcast. Already well into its second season, this absolute juggernaut of a podcast boasts over 100 episodes.
Each episode provides an in-depth conversation about the discipline of engineering. Their aim is to help connect engineers, or aspiring ones, to companies, technologies, people, resources, and opportunities related to engineering.
In the Being an Engineer podcast episode with Kevin, he shares valuable information about affordable methods and manufacturing processes to help inventors bring their ideas to life without breaking the bank.
For those trying to raise funds, Kevin provides insight about how and when to leverage crowdfunding. And when it comes time to actually engineer the product, he explains how to avoid overloading your product with unnecessary features. You can catch the full episode with Kevin Mako on Pipeline’s website.
The Best Engineering Podcast for Invention Makers
What makes the Product Startup the best engineering podcast for invention makers is the plethora of designers, engineers, and entrepreneurs we invite to the show. Just like Robert Irwin, a Lead Industrial Designer at Amazon.
In this episode, Robert and Kevin discuss how inventors, startups, and small manufacturers can ensure their product development goes smoothly. Indeed, Robert shares his thoughts on the harmonization of industrial design and product engineering processes.
You’ll learn about the differences between industrial design, the challenge of developing a visual solution for the user, and engineering, the challenge of ensuring all the parts work well together.
In addition, you’ll learn about how designers and engineers should work together in the development cycle. That way, they can manage constraints, limitations, and other factors that affect the user experience and the manufacturing process.
But the Product Startup and the Being an Engineer Podcast are just two of the many podcasts on Pipeline’s list. For the full list of the best engineering podcasts for invention makers, click here.
