Our Client’s Product, the ROVER Packhopper, on Display at the Red Dot Museum Winners Exhibit
About the Red Dot Museum Winners Exhibit!
The Red Dot Awards celebrate their design awards in more ways than just an online exhibition! The team at Red Dot Design dedicated a whole museum to help highlight the outstanding and innovative designs made by designers and design teams worldwide.
Award-winning designs are put on display throughout the museum, alongside an impressive permanent collection of some of the most iconic winning designs from past years of the Red Dot award.
The museum only exhibits some of the best designs that must pass through a rigorous adjudication process from a panel of design experts that present each design with the coveted Red Dot quality seal – making them worthy of their place in the Red Dot Museum.
It is located in the heart of Singapore’s most iconic district, Marina Bay, and is currently exhibiting the Red Dot Award Design Concept 2020 Winners from October 7, 2020 – including the ROVER Packhopper designed by the team at our Texas product development firm, MAKO Design!
About the ROVER Packhopper Designed by Our Texas Product Development Firm
The Rover Packhopper is a sport, fitness, and recreational product invention created at our Texas product development firm, MAKO Design, for our client, Eric Coffman! Made for tennis players and fans everywhere, Eric’s inspiration for the ROVER Packhopper was to create a way to make it easier to carry everything you need to practice and play a great and efficient tennis session.
The ROVER Packhopper is a backpack specially made for tennis that can hold up to 85 tennis balls, as well as a large pocket for racquets, numerous small pockets for accessories, and mesh pockets for water bottles.
The backpack is easy to carry and can be wheeled around tennis courts and other terrains. With extendable legs, the ROVER Packhopper can raise tennis balls to the exact height you need to help feed tennis balls to help work and practice on your service.
If you want to watch yourself serve and practice, the ROVER Packhopper can hold your phone through a handy compartment and film you while you practice, allowing you to track your progress.

Our Red Dot Win Earned by Our Texas Product Development Firm!
The Red Dot Awards is an internationally based award established in 1955 by Prof. Dr. Peter Zec, the Founder of Red Dot. The Red Dot Award is annually given to those who strive to distinguish their business activities through design.
The awards are awarded by a carefully selected panel of judges who excel and are recognized in the areas of product design, communications design, and design concepts. This jury honors the award through the principles of both selection and presentation.
There are three disciplines included in the Red Dot Design Awards: Product Design, Communications Design, and Design Concept.

This year, the team at our Texas product development firm, MAKO Design, was super excited to hear that our design for the ROVER Packhopper won a coveted Red Dot Award for Design concept!
As a leading product development firm dedicated to pushing forward the world of design and innovation, we feel honored to receive such a gracious and notorious design award, recognizing the hard work that our team put into bringing this product design to life.
Our CEO, Kevin Mako, Director of Design, Tim Uys, and Industrial Designer, Paul Davis, worked together to help create the ROVER Packhopper. They are truly honored to receive such a world-renowned award that not only shows appreciation for their great design work but also celebrates our client, Eric Coffman’s, genius idea.
MAKO Design would like to once again express our gratitude to Red Dot for this amazing honor and for featuring our design in their winner’s museum!
