Introducing Rob Taylor, a valued member of our team! Rob has been with TriMech since 2020, and has established himself as a highly skilled simulation project engineer.

Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) Specialist

His area of expertise is in Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), which is a branch of fluid mechanics that uses numerical methods and algorithms to analyze problems that involve fluid flows. CFD is widely used in various industries, such as aerospace, automotive, and energy, to name a few. Rob emphasizes the importance of running simulations up front to allow our clients to have a better understanding of how their product will perform, maintaining the ability to make changes and increasing the likelihood of successful designs.

Rob’s expertise in CFD has been vital to the success of many of our projects, and he has a proven track record of delivering high-quality results on time and on budget. When asked what his day-to-day looks like as a simulation designer, he says:

“I spend most of my time running simulations to ensure they are as accurate as possible, but I also spend a lot of time working with clients, because we have a very collaborative process.”

Rob understands that “although my specialty is simulation and analysis, their specialty is the product.” The TriMech team provides reports and data as they go along to allow the client to suggest changes as needed.

While Rob doesn’t favor working with a specific industry, he enjoys “new, innovative projects that push me to try new processes with software that have never been done before, generating insight that you couldn’t get any other way.”

The TriMech team is a group of engineers who have skillsets ranging from analysis to design and even some production skills that are available to help clients who don’t have that expertise or bandwidth to complete projects. Rob’s favorite aspect of working for the TriMech team is

“the wonderful culture, despite being all over the country we operate as a tight unit, bouncing ideas off each other and benefiting from our varied experiences, bringing different insight and perspectives to problems.”
